When Is The Best Time To Go Couponing?

Of course you can go couponing at any time, but there are two guidelines I follow:
  1. If there is a great deal where you can get something free or extremely cheap, go couponing for that item as soon as it goes on sale.  For example, the sales at CVS and Walgreens start on Sundays.  Many times I can get the coupon deal if I go that morning, but can return later in the week on several occasions and the item will always be out of stock.  You are not the only extreme couponer out there, so don't dilly-dally or you'll lose out.
  2. Don't coupon during peak times at the grocery store.  I like to coupon in the evenings or early in the morning.  No matter how hard I plan out my trip, inevitably I have some coupons that won't scan, or some situation that requires the manager.  When there is a line of people with full carts behind you trying to get home and make dinner, this can get very uncomfortable for you, and very inconvenient for others.  I tend to coupon at times when the stores are more empty.
